Workplace Description:

Modern Piano is an equal opportunity employer.  We want the very best for our customers.  We have put together an employment package that proves it.  From top pay and bonuses to top-of-the line equipment, Modern Piano Moving provides a friendly work atmosphere and an amazing opportunity to build a career.

Modern Piano is run like a family.  Everyone knows your name and is available to you when you need us.  Problems and concerns are addressed on a personal level and your opinion counts (It is welcomed!)

Private company homes are available at some locations.  Rent is discounted to the point of costing the employee little or nothing. All that is required is standard maintenance and payment of utilities.

In 2007 we switched to contracted, owner-operators (the moving industry standard) and have found satisfaction on both the company and contractor side.  Prospective drivers would either already own their own late model truck (must be high-end o/o specs) or may lease/purchase one of ours (as available).  There are no upfront costs as all expenses are treated as deductions. Revenue is generated by a combination of mileage and number of piano moves.

We have quarterly company outtings that include fun evenings or weekends of float trips, picnics, comedy clubs, vacation rentals, ballgames and more.   We value our employees and encourage you to mingle with family and co-workers.

We are professional piano movers.  Applicants must…

  • Be willing and able to lift, maneuver, push and secure large, heavy instruments
  • Be in good physical condition.  Some situations require strength and stamina. Be willing to maintain a clean and neat appearance at all times
  • Be able to think on their feet and develop solutions to tricky situations
  • Be respectful of our Safety is Job One priority and act professional at all times
  • Be drug free. Tests are given prior to employment and randomly throughout the year.
  • Be at least 21 years old and have a CDL permit to be considered for driver trainee.
  • Be at least 18 years old and have a class E license to be considered for helper trainee.
  • Have earned a clean driving/criminal/previous employment record.
  • Enjoy working with people. Piano owners are typically very cool people
  • Enjoy working/running as a team. Pianos can’t be moved safely by yourself

This may be one of the most demanding driving jobs in the industry and we want great DRIVERS.  People born to drive are those who feel comfortable and enjoy driving a large vehicle.  We are constantly in subdivisions and on small roads.  If you do not enjoy a driving challenge now and then, you won’t enjoy this job.  If this sounds interesting, please, read on.
